FRANKIE BOYLEFrankie Boyle is a comedian of some fame although there are those who would choose infamy over fame. He has reached national notice by going where few others of his ilk have dared.....at least in the last ten years; he offends some and is considered offensive by many others. He has brought an action in the High Court against the Daily Mirror for its accusation that he is a racist. For various reasons self censorship not only by those with a public profile but also by those without could be considered more threatening to free speech than any amount of legislation: the Leveson Inquiry is dealing with just such a decision. I await with interest the jury`s verdict.
